We remember when a teacher was someone you looked up to.
Three parents. Seven children between us. And a quiet worry we couldn’t shake — our kids weren’t seeing their educators the way we once saw ours.
↳ this one’s personal.
The teacher we never forgot.
Most of us can still name the one educator who changed us — the one who knelt down to our level, noticed the day we were quiet, and made us believe we could. They weren’t filling in forms. They were there.
When we became parents, we went looking for that same person in our own children’s classrooms. We found wonderful, devoted educators — but buried under attendance sheets, observation logs and reports that ran late into the evening. Our kids weren’t meeting role models. They were meeting people too exhausted by admin to be one.
So three of us — seven children between us — decided to change that.
“A good education can change anyone. A good teacher can change everything.”— an old saying we keep coming back to
To give educators their real job back — the guiding, the mentoring, the being‑someone‑to‑look‑up‑to — by taking the clerical weight off their shoulders.
hoopooh listens, writes, tags, plans and reports — quietly, in flow, in the framework your setting already uses. Not to replace the educator, but to clear the desk in front of them, so the children get the version of their teacher we all still remember.
Guidance, not data entry
Educators speak, hoopooh listens. No forms, no clipboards, no tab‑hopping. The educator stays with the child — that’s the whole point.
Care, not admin
Reports, milestones, parent updates, framework reporting — all assembled from the actual moments educators captured. No Sunday-night rush, ever.
Your framework, not ours
EYFS, Montessori, IB‑PYP, Bildungsprogramm or your own rubric. hoopooh speaks yourlanguage — we don’t invent a new one.
Weeks and weeks inside the classroom.
Three parents, three jobs we’d left, one promise to the teachers we sat with: build the thing they actually needed, not the thing the industry wanted to sell.
We sat in nursery rooms for six weeks
Three of us — parents first, founders second — spent weeks shadowing educators and directors in Berlin and Cairo. We weren’t prototyping. We were watching where the day got eaten alive by admin.
The breakthrough came from a teacher
We’d tried apps, forms and tablets — educators ignored every one. One Tuesday a lead educator in Berlin said: “just let me talk.” hoopooh was born that afternoon.
The first fifty nurseries
Word spread room-to-room, director-to-director. We onboarded our 50th nursery without writing a single sales email — just by sitting with educators and listening some more.
350+ schools across four countries
Germany, Egypt, Qatar, UAE. Montessori houses, kitas, IB PYP, EYFS — one copilot, many frameworks, one promise unchanged: educators stay with the children.
